Chinese Painted Quail, also commonly known as Button Quail, are delightful little birds and one of the smallest quail species kept in aviculture. Despite their tiny size, they are full of character and fascinating to hatch and watch develop.

Their beautifully tiny eggs make them an exciting choice for anyone wanting to hatch something a little different. The chicks are incredibly small when they emerge and grow quickly, making the whole hatching experience particularly rewarding.

Our breeding birds are carefully selected for health, fertility, temperament and variety, with fertility regularly monitored within our own breeding group.

Please note:

Chinese Painted Quail chicks are exceptionally tiny when first hatched and require appropriately sized equipment, feed and drinkers. Particular care should be taken to ensure their brooder is safe for such small chicks.

We regularly monitor fertility within our own breeding groups and achieve good results. However, hatch rates cannot be guaranteed once eggs leave us, as postal handling, incubation conditions, temperature and other environmental factors are outside our control.

Individual chick colour and markings will naturally vary.

Limited quantities are available each week to ensure eggs are sent as fresh as possible. Orders are dispatched promptly, with eggs collected within the previous 24 hours wherever possible.
